My Story

I played softball competitively for 15 years of my life. I was fortunate to play at Texas A&M University where we went to the WCWS twice and were runners-up in 2008.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Communication, I began coaching immediately. I went back to school and earned a master's in Sport Management as my desire to stay around college athletics didn't fade. Life had its own plans which moved me to Virginia and eventually overseas. With two kiddos in tow and a husband on an unaccompanied tour, I decided to work towards a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

 

During that time, I spent over a year at a residential treatment and recovery center where I developed a special place in my heart for people in recovery. Self-harm, suicide, and substance abuse are not the problems - they are the solutions to the problems. If you want to begin your recovery journey or are already on it and could use some extra support, I am here to help.

My passion for helping and serving others has never changed; I've just found other ways to do it. Therapy allows me to help other expats and athletes in ways I was unable and untrained to do so before.

As an athlete, you might have access to free resources on campus and within your athletic department, but sometimes it's nice to talk to someone outside of that world. Let your coaches be your coaches, your friends be your friends, and your parents be your parents.

Similarly with expats, you have options within the embassy but it isn't always reliable, accessible, convenient, or anonymous. Step outside the embassy bubble. ​
